Denise Michelle Elder

Denise Michelle Elder, age 65, of Byrdstown, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Jay Shelley and Thelma Sue Shelley Whited. She was the wife of the late Kenny Elder. She was also preceded in death by 1 nephew, Marty Shelley Jr.

She is survived by 1 son, Sam (Erica) Elder; 3 siblings, Steven Shelley, Marty (Cookie) Shelley, and Beverly (Ronnie) Bandy; and 5 nieces and nephews, Eric (Jeanie) Bandy, Josh Bandy, Brandy (Nathan) Buck, Melissa (Peyton) Davis, and Miciah Shelley. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews and other family members.

It is with great respect that we remember a cherished individual who dedicated her life to caring for others. With over 40 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, she profoundly impacted the lives of many through her compassionate service. As the Hospice Director for Home Health, she exemplified professionalism, empathy, and commitment to the well-being of her patients and their families. Her legacy of care and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Burial will be in Neal Cemetery in Byrdstown, Tennessee.
