He was the son of the late Sherman H. and Georgia Mae Bowen Melton.
He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Doris Stearns; Jean Brown; Janice Hacker and 3 brothers, Ronnie Melton; William Melton; Tommy Melton.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War.
His survivors include his 2 daughters, Andrea (Chuck) Gibson; Candi (Felipe) Pereira
his sister, Sue Irwin
his brother, Howard Melton
7 grandchildren, Aleigha Thacker; Amber Thacker; Urijah Pereira; Silas Pereira; Taylor Gibson; Karlee Gibson; Abigail Soma
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery with Military Honors.
