Margrett Geneve Craig

Margrett Geneve Craig, age 79, of Owensboro departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Born on August 23, 1945 to Robert Benton and Ila Lucille Rhule, Margrett was a cherished soul whose life touched many.

On August 5, 1960, she united in marriage with George Earl Craig, forging a partnership that blossomed until his passing. Margrett now reunites with him, along with her beloved siblings—Larry, Clyde, Donnie, and Randall Rhule, and her dear sister Dorene Smith—who have gone before her as well as 2 of Johnny's uncles who were like her own family, Lawrence Craig and Jeff Craig and her sister-in-law, Linda Craig.

Margrett’s legacy continues through her son, Bro. Johnny Craig. She was a wonderful grandmother to her four grandchildren: April Craig-Flood and husband James, Johnnie Brown and husband Charlie, Misty Nicholas and husband David, and Bo Dyer whom she loved dearly along with her seven great-grandchildren—Tyler, Craig, George, Loren, Jeremiah, Eleanor, and Lonnie—who carry forward her love and spirit.

Margrett also leaves behind her caring sister, Velma (Buster) Pitman along with several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brother-in-law, Jimmie Craig. She will be remembered not only for her loving nature but also for the warmth she brought into the lives of others.

Though we mourn her loss, we celebrate the life she lived, the love she shared, and the bond she forged with all who were lucky enough to know her. May her memory be a blessing to us all.

Burial will be in Craig Cemetery.
