Mary Wilma Smith

Mary Wilma Smith, age 80, of Albany, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025. Born to Willie Denton Story and Leta Poore, she shared her life with many who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Casey Smith, and two sisters, Lear Garrett and Learlene Zachary.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, David Smith; her daughter, Michelle Brown; and her sisters, Bonnie Jirldean Claywell and Lonel Wilson, along with her brother, Mike Story. Mary was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, Brittany (Jason) Claywell and Jessica (Bro. James) Smith, who brought her immense joy. She was also the grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Walker Smith, Wyatt Smith, Weston Smith, Malachi Brown, and Summer Claywell.

A dedicated member of Smith's Chapel Church, Mary found strength and community through her faith.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
