Ruth Willis Dyer Honeycutt Schalk, 92, of Greenfield, Indiana died peacefully at home on June 2, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and with devoted husband Roy Schalk by her side. She was born on February 27, 1934 to Landon and Golda Dyer in Clinton County, Kentucky. The family later relocated to the Indianapolis area where she lived the remainder of her life.

In 1950 she married Horace Honeycutt and together they had four children (Phyllis, Gary, Larry, and Diana) before his death in 1990. On December 10, 1995 she married Roy Schalk, and together they shared many happy years with their family and cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her late husband Horace, Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Landon and Golda Dyer; daughter Phyllis Honeycutt; son Larry Honeycutt; and siblings Billy Dyer, Elsie Dyer, James Dyer, Joseph Dyer, Landon Dyer Jr., Ronald Dyer, Samuel Dyer, Ada Kurz, Goldie Payton, Georgie Poindexter, and Janie Upchurch.

She is survived by husband Roy Schalk; children Gary Honeycutt, Diana (Terry) Cox, Jeff Schalk, James (Tina) Schalk, and Lisa Schalk; sister Joyce Jackson; grandchildren Garrett Honeycutt, Alex Honeycutt, Adam (Kailyn) Honeycutt, Jessica (Anthony) Aronowitz, Shauna (Brian) Hembroff, Brittany McDonald, Bayleigh Howard, Kyler Schalk, Emily (Skylar) Rader, Trinity Howard, Madison McDonald, Evan (Alyssa) Schalk, and Kegan Schalk; great-grandchildren Elliot, Copeland, and Griffin Aronowitz, Connor, Hailey, and Hannah Hembroff, Brayden, Mila, Montego, and Ontario Honeycutt; and many other beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

BURIAL WILL BE AT HILLCREST CEMETERY - NEXT TO PEOLIA CHURCH, 77 PEOLIA CHURCH ROAD, ALBANY, KY 42602 WITH A GRAVESIDE SERVICE HELD SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 2026 AT 2:00 PM (CENTRAL TIME).
