Obituary


Melvina Vickers Mackey died in Sparta, Tennessee on July 31, 2022, at the age of 69. She was born
February 20, 1953, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, as the youngest of four children to Earl and Mildred
Vickers. Melvina worked as a nurse in Clinton County and surrounding areas for more than 20 years,
most recently for Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Melvina is survived by her children, Catherine Mackey West (David) of Kingston, Tennessee, and George
Eugene Mackey (Donna) of Sparta, Tennessee. She was a doting Nana to her grandchildren, Sarah and
Reed West, Isaiah Dallwein, Ethan and Evan Irwin, Charley Bates, and Emmett Brown. She is also
survived by a great-grandson, David Mann (Amanda) of Burkesville, Kentucky, and several cousins,
nieces and nephews. Melvina was preceded in death by her parents, her three siblings, and her
husband, Eugene Mackey.
