Betty Hadus Reneau, age 92, of Albany, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Issac Oren and Hadus (Neathery) Reneau. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ned Reneau and Fulton Reneau and 1 nephew, Jim Reneau.

She is survived by 8 nieces and nephews, Carolyn (Steve) Shepler, Susan (Ed) Westfall, Dorothy (Rock) Garton, Mary (Bob) Smith, Joyce (Leon) Okes, Tom (Deneane) Reneau, Bill (Pam) Reneau, and Paul (Julie) Reneau. She is also survived by a niece-in-law, Nancy Reneau.

Betty graduated from Clinton County High School in 1951. She then continued her education at Transylvania University where she graduated with a BA degree in 1955. After graduating from Transylvania University, she attended Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky where she earned her Bachelor of Divinity degree and later became an ordained minister on June 15, 1958 at Albany Christian Church as a minister in the Christian Church/Disciples of Christ. She served several churches in Albany, Kentucky as well as in Missouri and Arkansas until 1963, where she made her way back to Albany and transitioned from the church educational work to public education. Betty then taught school for 28 years in both Wayne and Cumberland counties where she then retired from teaching in 1993. Betty will be remembered for her selflessness within her community through ministerial work, teaching, and through her commitment to the Clinton County Cancer Society.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE IN THE SPRING.

MEMORIAL DONATIONS MAY BE MADE IN HONOR OF BETTY RENEAU TO TRANSYLVANIA UNIVERSITY.
